Hypnosis is a state-of-mind that we naturally do without thinking. When we are relaxed, the subconscious mind communicates with the conscious mind, and we can then find solutions in order to change unwanted habits, or feel more positive about whatever our aims are. The Hypnotherapist will suggest positive thoughts in various ways to help you make the changes you require.
A trance state can vary from being light or a very deep sense of relaxation – but you do not lose consciousness, and you have an awareness of the sounds of everyday life around you. It is like day-dreaming and when you come back out of a trance you will feel revitalised, relaxed and ready for the rest of the day, with a positive step forward.
What to expect from your first session.
Initially there is approximately a 20-30 min consultation but this can vary depending on patients with complex issues.
I would generally use NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) which are conscious steps to help you break habits if suitable for you and this can be discussed at the time.
I will show you a simple method of breathing deeply so that you can relax better during the hypnosis.
Do I have control?
You are always in control and able to come out of a trance state at any time you wish. If you have ever experienced meditation it may seem very similar as it is comparable to when we are in a relaxed concentrated state of mind, or like day dreaming, sense of well-being or being in harmony.
